Grades are a practical trade language for quill diameter and presentation. The right grade depends on how visible the product is, how it will be used, and the buyer's commercial target.
Alba is the finest presentation grade, followed by C5 Special and C5. These grades are often selected for luxury retail, gifting and visible whole-spice formats.
C4 provides a strong balance for mainstream retail and foodservice, while M grades serve broader processing and beverage uses.
H1 and H2 are thicker quills commonly considered for grinding, extraction and manufacturing where fine presentation is not the primary criterion.
